Hi! I’m Lisa Marlo Bethea- originally from Augusta, Georgia and I have resided in Greenville, SC since the year 2000.
Check out the Greenville News article below about me to get to know me a little better!
The gift of being a talented artist was recognized at the age of 26. I am a self-taught artist with an eclectic style of decorating mixed and an impressionistic style of painting. A proficient skill set in calligraphy, oils, oil pastels, acrylics and watercolors has emerged in every imaginable form of “painting” on cloth, walls, glass, canvas, paper and literally anything paint will adhere to.
I’ve taught calligraphy classes and art classes at community colleges in Augusta, GA and art at St Joseph’s Catholic High School in Greenville, SC. Calligraphy is currently my main focus and there is nothing more rewarding than being a part of someone’s special event in this way.
One of my favorite pieces that I made is a 14 piece cloth (5” x 5”) panel set of the STATIONS OF THE CROSS in the gymnasium that displays in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greenville, SC every year during Easter and Lent.
My home is a colorful art canvas and could be viewed by some as a box of “Crayola Crayons”.
My art and website is an inspiration of who I am as a person. My three children Herbert William IV, Victoria Margaret and Mathilda Marlo, as well as, husband Paul Bethea and best friend Donna Plants and so many others have encouraged and supported me over the years:
Without the love and support of friends and family nothing is possible.
